State-of-the-art aged care in Oberon
In May 2015, the much anticipated Oberon Village was officially opened – a fully accredited nursing home purpose built to suit the needs of the Oberon and neighbouring communities for their aged care residential services.
The Village consists of two levels and offer 66 places that will accommodate high and low care needs, respite and secure dementia facilities. The well-appointed bedrooms consist of mainly single rooms, with some doubles, all with ensuites. In addition to the lounge and dining areas, there are multiuse rooms, a massage/day spa area, allied health offices, hairdressers and self-serve cafè.
The project, which has taken more than 10 years to come to fruition, is the result of local, state and federal lobbying to address the need for an aged-care facility in Oberon.
The Oberon Village has the potential to create anywhere up to 80 full-time and part-time jobs and will become one of the larger employers in the region.
